Description

Laboratory results have a multitude of benefits, one of which is offering a more quantitative picture of the levels of macro and micronutrients in the soil. In my presentation, I will highlight these macro and micronutrients’ combined functionalities. In particular, I will illuminate how understanding these functionalities offers a better diagnosis of their nutrient deficiencies. To that end, I will emphasize the importance of having the 24 macro and micronutrient ratios in soil analyses reports. Examples include N-S, Ca-Mg, Ca-P, Mg-K, and K-B. These, in short, provide a more comprehensive picture of the situation.

I will also show how these ratios help rectify deficiencies through means such as bolstering protein synthesis, helping with Ca translocation and reducing soil sealing. Other benefits of understanding macro and micronutrients, which will be addressed, include assessing the critical CA-P relationship, the role of Mg efficiencies in metabolic activities for photosynthesis, and the K-B relationship in carbohydrate synthesis.

The viewer will, in the end, learn how these ratios strengthen crop yield, quality, optimal fertilizer and water-use efficiencies, and better environmental quality.
